Test and results
You can book an appointment with our HCA or Practice Nurse. Please bring your blood request form if you have one. Appointments for blood tests may be booked up to four weeks ahead.
If you have been asked to provide a urine sample in, please bring this in the sterile bottle given from reception and labelled with the date and your name and DOB. It should be handed in the morning it has been passed. You may have been given a form to hand in as well, please enter the date and time the sample was collected in the top right hand corner.
If you have been told by the doctor or nurse that the sample is for dip testing at the practice (usually as a screen for sugar or infection) please let the receptionist know.
Results of urine and blood tests usually take at least seven working days to come back from the laboratory. The person ordering the test should tell you whether you need a further appointment after or whether you should phone reception. We do not contact you with results – please phone in the afternoon or evening for results as they arrive with us after lunch.
The receptionist will be able to tell you if any further action is required but is not qualified to discuss the result with you. If further discussion is necessary, please make an appointment to see your doctor or for them to ring you.
